Govt pleader seeks help from police
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

FEB 13: A Government pleader of the Anti-Corruption Bureau and Central Bureau of Investigation has himself been forced to seek the help of the law after losing jewellery and cash worth Rs 1,35,000 in a burglary.

According to the police, Kari Narshima Varma (42), who was out shopping with his relatives on February 11, returned home at 8 pm to find his house broken into.

He immediately recorded a complaint with the Antop Hill police station. The senior police inspector U Salunkhe who accompanied Varma to his house, found that jewellery and cash worth Rs 1,35,000 were missing from the wooden cupboard fitted into the wall.

No official documents were missing. The televison set and the stereo too were missing initially, but they were later located by the police team. Both items were hidden near the wall just behind the house. The police have the fingerprints of the culprit and also a shoe of which they are trying to establish the owner.

According to the police they have got some leads and are trying to work on it. It is clear that the robbery took place between 7 pm and 7.30 pm because Varma's neighbours had found the house locked at 7 pm. While the enquiry is still in progress, the police have registered a case charging the accused of house breaking and robbery.
