Centre to study SEBI, DCA powers overlap

MUMBAI, FEB 17: The centre will look into the problem of various agencies commonly exercising regulatory powers over some issue, particularly overlapping regulatory powers of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) and Department of Company Affairs (DCA), Union minister for law and company affairs Arun Jaitley said on Saturday.

To a query, Mehta denied that any demands from Sebi's side were put forward in the meeting. But issues such as vanishing companies and the steps initiated in identifying and punishing them did come up for discussion, he said.
