Amritraj parts with his tennis secrets
Press Trust of India

New Delhi, February 17: It was serious work amidst fun for the dozen odd tennis hopefuls who had gathered at the media clinic here to lap up tips from former tennis star Vijay Amritraj.

Charming all with his inimitable wit at the Hyaat Regency tennis court, Amritraj imparted vital tips on the serve and volly game to the likes of CEO of Coke India Alexander Karzarski and officials of Belgium, US and Russian Embassies.

The media savvy Davis Cupper, who was last week chosen as the UN messenger of peace, also explained the importance of having strong upper arm as the balls these days were heavier. The participants at the clinic, some coming for the second time like Shaleen Jain, were exulted after the two-hour workout.“He is such a pleasure and makes it sound so easy foreven raw learners like us”, remarked one of the participants.

Amritraj has been closely associated with Hyaat Regency and his visit for this clinic have now been a regular feature.

The last time he came was in May 1999 before going to France to felicitate the then No 1 doubles pair Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupati.
