West Ham draw against Spurs
Reuters

LONDON, February 19: West Ham United will face eight-times former winners Tottenham Hotspur at Upton Park in the pick of FA Cup quarter-finals drawn on Sunday.

Cup favourites Arsenal, who beat holders Chelsea 3-1 in the fifth round on Sunday, were rewarded with a home tie against either Bolton Wanders or Blackburn Rovers of the first division.

Cup specialists Liverpool, 4-2 winners over Manchester City on Sunday, travel to the winners of the replay between first division Tranmere Rovers and premier league Southampton.

Premier league Leicester City play host to either division one side Wimbledon or Wycombe Wanderers of division two in the other quarter-final.

West Ham have beaten two fellow premier league sides already in this season’s competition Manchester United in the fourth round and Sunderland in the fifth round on Saturday. Both those were tough away games but Harry Redknapp’s side will have home advantage against Spurs, who beat Stockport County 4-0 in the fifth round on Saturday. Gerard Houllier’s Liverpool are already through to the League Cup final and have a 2-0 advantage after the first leg of their UEFA Cup fourth round tie against Roma.

But Houllier will be wary of Merseyside rivals Tranmere, who beat Liverpool’s neighbours Everton 3-0 in the shock of the fourth round. “They have a reputation for taking scalps,” said Houllier. “It’s not going to be an easy one.” Bookmakers William Hill make Arsenal 2-1 favourites to win the competition. Liverpool are rated second favourites at 5/2.
