MUMBAI, MARCH 21: According to Senior Inspector, Praful Bhosle, the case was registered after Vanita went missing from her Ramabai Nagar residence since December 17 2000. Her parents informed the police that her boyfriend, Pagare was also missing from his home at Kurla. The crime branch officer learned that the two had a relationship and used to meet everyday. Fearing opposition from the parents they decided to run away. The crime branch took over the case this month and two to three teams were sent to various places like Goa, Aurangabad, Nashik and Shirdi but were not able to trace them. The team then interrogated some of his friends and discovered the couple were in Pune. A team was sent there and the two brought to the city. A case of kidnapping a minor has been registered. Senior Inspector, Bhosle said that Vanita woud be sent for medical examination. And depending on that a case of rape may also be filed against the accused.
