Ranatunga sacked as cricket CEO
COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s Cricket Board on Monday sacked its Chief Executive Officer, Dhammika Ranatunga, brother of former cricket captain Arjuna Ranatunga, following a four-month investigation into a number of allegations against him. Ranatunga was dismissed and replaced by former Test skipper Anura Thennakoon, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCSL) said. Board President Thilanga Sumathipala said there were five main charges against Ranatunga, but declined to give details. ‘‘There were some allegations of a Financial nature, but we can’t give details,’’ he said.
