Probe into promoters' role in KP scam sought
In a scathing attack on the regulators, company promoters and India's largest mutual fund UTI, Kirit Somaiya, BJP Member of Parliament and President of IGF has demanded drastic restructuring in the financial sector, especially the UTI and the promoters role in rigging.




FM warning against manipulators boosts market
Stern warning by Finance Minister of action against manipulators led a marginal recovery on Dalal Street on Tuesday. The bellweather Sensex netted a gain of 38.75 pts on the BSE following Sinha’s assurance to take firm action against market manipulators and reports of a major clean-up operation in the financial sector.




PSBs shun gold trade with co-op banks
Three leading state-run banks in Gujarat have stopped accepting cheques from the region’s cooperative banks and have cut down transactions with bullion dealer clients of those banks. The commercial banks are the SBI, BoI, PNB and Standard Chartered Bank.
