Misquoted on PM, says Buddha
New Delhi: :West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has blamed the media for being misquoted on his criticism of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Buddhadeb spoke to Singh on phone on Saturday and reportedly told him that he held him in high esteem and that he had been misquoted.
In his utterances over the past few days, the West Bengal Chief Minister had blamed Singh “under whose leadership the Congress had lost a series of Assembly elections in Gujarat, Himachal and elsewhere”.
The Prime Minister on Saturday said that issues were being politicised because of elections. “This is politics. We are getting nearer to the elections. Therefore, issues are being politicised,” Singh said here on Saturday.
