Bhopal, July 4 : Two more persons were killed and several others injured as violence over the Amarnath land issue continued in Indore on Friday forcing the administration to bring the entire town under curfew by late afternoon.

Four persons had lost their lives in the commercial capital of the state on Thursday. Curfew had been imposed in four police station areas of Indore since Thursday and by Friday noon, three more areas were brought under curfew.

The trouble started when the funeral procession of three Muslims was being taken out from the curfew-bound Khajrana locality. More people than those allowed by the authorities wanted to join the procession. The funeral procession of a Hindu was also being taken out around the same time.

Indore (IG) Anil Kumar claimed stones were pelted and slogans shouted when a funeral procession passed a mosque. He said women had taken the lead in stone pelting. According to him, authorities were forced to bring the entire town under curfew because trouble was spreading to more localities.
