‘Ragged’,boy jumps before train,dies

Police are,however,baffled as to what Devender was doing at Dharmaram in Warangal district. “He was at his home in Karminagar last week and he left home on June 3 saying he had exams from June 9. We assume that he must have got down en route and committed suicide. We found a suicide note in his pocket in which he wrote that he was taking the extreme step as he was humiliated and ragged constantly by his seniors. His parents say they complained to the college management about the ragging several months ago when Devender told them he didn’t want to go back to college,” said Warangal SP V C Sajjanar.

Warangal police said they were transferring the case to Hyderabad as the parents wanted to lodge a complaint against the college management. However,denying the allegations of ragging,the authorities of Vasavi Engineering College said Devender was “suffering from depression” for the past several months.
