The Ferozepur police have arrested one Rajavillah who had been living in the town for the last three years with a fake identity of Rakesh Kumar. According to the police,Rajavillah was sent by Pakistans Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and he had been supplying secret information of the Indian Army, details of ammunition, railway lines and bridges to the neighbouring country via email.
The police said a laptop computer had been seized from the accused and more details would be revealed after investigation. The ISI agent was arrested on a secret information by the CIA staff in-charge Sarabjit Singh.
Ferozepur Senior Superintendent of Police S P S Parmar said: The man (Rajavillah) cleared his Class X examination from the Punjab State Education Board as a private candidate, according to a certificate seized from him. He had a PAN card,a driving licence and a voter ID-card on the basis of which he even had accounts in various banks here. We have seized all these documents. He came to India via Nepal and went to Ludhiana before settling down in the border town of Ferozepur. He had two mobile phones and their call details are being tracked. We will extract more information from him.
The police said Rajavillah was originally from Chau Chauk Aza village of Punjab province in Pakistan.
As Rakesh Kumar,he was running a wholesale medicine shop in the name of Asian Group Company at Triveni Chowk in Ferozepur Cantonment. Other shopkeepers in the area said he enjoyed a good rapport with his clients and they never suspected him because of his friendly nature. The SSP,however, did not rule out connivance of locals in the incident, saying fake documents cannot be made so easily.
Rajavillah will be produced in court on Tuesday.
