‘Menon told Ahmadinejad his predictions came true’

Our two nations’ cultures and origins are what the world needs today.

National Security Advisor Shiv Shanker Menon has told Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that many of the latter’s “predictions” about the political and economic developments in the world “have come to reality today”,according to a statement from Ahmedinejad’s office.

The meeting between Menon and Ahmadinejad took place on Monday,and the press statement,giving details of the meeting,has been posted on the President’s website http://www.president.ir/en

The statement reads,“He (Menon) referred to President Ahmadinejad’s meeting with the Indian prime minister,reiterating,‘Many of the predictions you had about the political and economic developments in the world have come to reality today and the world order is going under basic alterations,which has necessitated ever increasing relations between Iran and India’.”

The statement further reads: “He further stressed,‘The relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of India are beyond the current political relations,having roots in the cultures and the civilizations of the two nations and both countries have great potentials for improvement of bilateral,regional and international relations’.”

The statement also said that the NSA told Ahmedinejad that relations with the Iran was among the top priorities of India and that “New Delhi is after the establishment of comprehensive relations with Iran,including strategic ties”.

Menon could not be reached for comment and it was not clear what predictions the statement was referring to.

Ahmadinejad said Iran and India would play significant roles in shaping the future of the international developments. “The relations between Iran and India are historic and sustainable…. Iran and India… should try to shape up the future world system in a way that justice and friendship would rule.”

The statement also said that “President Ahmadinejad pointed out that the ruling world order is coming to its end and is on the verge of collapse,reiterating,“Under the current conditions it is very important how the future world order will take shape and care should be taken that those who have imposed the oppressive world order against the mankind would not succeed in imposing it in a new frame.”

The statement said that the President referred to the significant roles Iran and India will be playing in future developments of the world,saying,“Our two nations’ cultures and origins are what the world needs today.”
