… he is mentally unstable, says BSP

The ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) described the Samajwadi Party’s (SP) National General Secretary Amar Singh as a “mentally unstable person” and suggested that he undergoes treatment at a psychiatric centre.

The ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) described the Samajwadi Party’s (SP) National General Secretary Amar Singh as a “mentally unstable person” and suggested that he undergoes treatment at a psychiatric centre.

The party also demanded a CBI probe into the assets amassed by Singh in the wake of the alleged donation made by him to the Clinton Foundation.

Reacting to the Singh’s allegations that the party was indulging in extortion in the name of Chief Minister Mayawati’s birthday,BSP state unit president Swami Prasad Maurya claimed the allegations are baseless.

“Amar Singh ek dalal, jhuthe, bhrastachari, farebi aur dhokhebaj kism ke vyakti hain (Amar Singh is a broker, liar, corrupt and manipulator),” he told mediapersons on Sunday.

He was accompanied by Mayawati’s trusted lieutenant and Public Works Department minister Nasimuddin Siddiquee.

Maurya said party founder Kanshi Ram had started the tradition of celebrating Mayawati’s birthday as a fund-raising day or Arthik Sahyog Diwas for the BSP.

“The government machinery has never been misused for this purpose. The BSP is a movement. It has learnt to collect money from workers from Baba Saheb Ambedkar,” Maurya said. He added that Singh had started his career as an employee of a company and entered the SP via Congress.

“We want the Prime Minister to announce a CBI probe into Amar’s assets. A case under FEMA should be lodged against Singh. The probe should focus on what prompted Singh to make such a huge donation to the Clinton Foundation,” Maurya said.

Terming Singh a “political joker”,he claimed people are aware of Singh’s political drama.

“He had virtually mortgaged the state to oblige his industrialist friends in the past. It shows that he plays the role of a broker even for his friends. His problem is that he cannot understand how a party like the BSP has come into existence with the support of common workers,” Maurya added.
