A 10-year-old girl from the Tandalja area died on Friday morning of dengue.

Heena Saiyad was suffering from fever for the past few days and was later detected with dengue. She was being treated at a private hospital at Ellora Park.

Following the incident, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation’s (VMC) Health Department carried out a drive in the area, but found no other suspected case.

“We have not found any other suspected dengue case in the area. But, precautionary measures have been taken in the locality, and there is no fear of an epidemic,” said Dr Hitendra Patel, chairman of Health Committee, VMC.

This is the second time in the last six months where dengue cases have been detected in the city. A 16-year-old boy from the Jetalpur area was earlier detected with dengue.
