A 10-Year-Old boy was tied to a horse by a rope and dragged on the road for trying to stop a horse, which belonged to Gurjjars, from grazing in his field on Sunday evening.
The boy’s mother Somti said the incident took place on Sunday when her son Etwari stopped a horse from grazing in their fields on the Jalandhar-Pathankot road. Enraged at this, the Gurjjars tied him to the horse and dragged him on the road. On seeing this, some factory workers rescued the boy, who has been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Jalandhar.
Sakattar Singh, SHO of Maqsudan police station, informed that a case under Section 323 was registered against the accused and further investigations are on. However, he said, the two families have now expressed their desire to arrive at a compromise.
