Fourteen villages in the district have been declared cholera affected following increase in cases of diarrhoea and vomiting,district health officials said here on Thursday. Contamination of water in 12 villages of Jhalod have led to number of cases of vomiting and gastroenteritis. As of today,there are over 80 persons admitted to the community health centre. These villages have been declared cholera affected, said Chief District Health Officer (CDHO) Dr D B Barot.
Besides the villages in Jhalod,one village in Fatehpura and one in Limkheda have also been declared cholera affected,” she said,adding that cause of this was consumption of contaminated water.
Barot said they have formed special teams and would begin a survey in the affected villages and begin identification of drinking water sources. We will begin chlorination of water sources and undertake door-to-door survey to identify patients, she said.
