  • In a case of honour killing, a 15-year-old boy was mercilessly beaten up, publicly humiliated, and then thrown in front of a running train for writing a love letter to a girl in his neighbourhood. The incident happened on Tuesday at Bhabua (Kaimur).

The Railway Police at Durgawati have said that the boy was beaten up outside the station and hence, the case has to be investigated by the Durgawati police. On the other hand, the Durgawati police have said that they had no information till the boy was thrown on the railway track from an over-bridge.

The boy was forcibly taken out of his school, paraded in the market with his face blackened, and beaten up with wooden sticks by four teenaged boys, believed to be the girl's relatives, even as his mother, Lalita Devi, repeatedly pleaded for mercy. When the Railway Police reached the spot, her son was already dead.
