A 17-year-old girl from Laxminagar, Parvati, has alleged that she has been gangraped by two persons, Asharf Khan and his friend Avinash Mahesh Lalwani, between July and September this year.

The Kondhwa police on Saturday arrested Avinash, 18, from his house on Dhole Patil Road after receiving the girl's complaint. Avinash, who was produced before the Cantonment court, was remanded to police custody till November 4. Police said the girl's parents have been separated and she was staying with her friends. In her statement to the police, the girl has said that she has been staying with a friend in Undri Road since July where she was introduced to Ashraf Khan (21), a resident of Upper Kondhwa, with whom she developed a friendship.

Later she and two other friends shifted to an apartment at Konark Puram in Kondhwa where Ashraf used to visit her.

She alleged that Ashraf had raped her at the apartment after which she came back to Undri Road to stay with her friend.

In September, pretending that he was apologetic about the incident, Ashraf requested her to meet him at Kapila Resort on Dhole Patil Road where he was waiting in a car with his friends Avinash and Rupesh.

They took her to Avinash's house on Dhole Patil road where she was forced to consume liquor after which Ashraf and Avinash allegedly raped her. Police have booked Ashraf, Avinash and Rupesh under section 376 (g) and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code(IPC). Police sub-inspector G A Kadam of Kondhwa police station is investigating the case.
