19-yr-old crushed to death by bus

Panchkula, November 17: A 19-year-old resident of Sector 25, Panchkula, was crushed to death by a bus after he lost his balance while alighting from the vehicle on the Pinjore-Kalka highway, near Maheshpur village, on Monday.

The victim, Anil Singh, was rushed to General Hospital, Sector 6, where he was declared ‘dead on arrival’.

Singh was enrolled in a course at a computer centre in Sector 11. He was on his way home when the accident occurred.

The bus,owned by the Haryana Roadways, was impounded while the driver has been arrested by the police.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after post mortem. The deceased’s father, Bankae Singh, works as a welder in Sector 25, Panchkula. Singh is survived by four siblings.

Resident of Mohali injured as bike collides with bus
In a separate incident, 25-year-old Sandeep Kumar was injured after his motorcycle collided head on with a Haryana Roadways bus near Industrial Area on Monday evening. Kumar was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, where doctors stated that his condition was critical. The victim is a resident of Mohali. A case of rash driving has been registered against the bus driver.
