Two boys were arrested for beating up a constable and attempting to rob him in Vashi. The incident occurred when constable Raju Aldar (35) was walking near the railway tracks in Vashi. The two accused Sheikh Abdul Razzaq (21) and Khan Abdul Kavi (19) approahed him and started beating him up. They then attempted to snatch his mobile,bag and Rs 5,000 cash when Aldar shouted for help. The public at the railway station came to the rescue of the cop and apprehended the duo. A case of violent robbery has been registered in Vashi police station against the two accused and they have been remanded to police custody till January 13. Razzaq and Kavi are habitual offenders, said an officer from Vashi police station. The police officer added,When Aldar was walking on the tracks they appeared from behind and hit him with a stone on his head. Then he called for help and the public nearby caught the two boys and handed them over to us.
