A group clash over a land dispute at Kammi village in Barwala left two persons seriously injured on Thursday.
The injured — Lakshman Das and Raj Pal — were taken to General Hospital, Sector 6.
“Around 7 am, some of the women, including the wives of Lakshman Das and Raj Pal, went to throw garbage on a plot of land belonging to us. Around 15 persons, led by some landlords, attacked us with sticks and sharp-edged weapons. As Das and others rushed to our rescue, they too were injured,” said Yamuna Das.
Das also received minor injuries in the clash.
“The injured were taken to hospital for first aid. While most others were discharged, the two seriously inured persons were admitted. We have got the version from both sides and are investigating the case,” said a police officer.
