Two persons, including a woman, were killed and eight injured when their vehicle collided with a truck near Red Huts Resorts on Saha-Naraingarh road early on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Rani and Krishan Chand, both in their 50s. Of the injured, three identified as Babita, Parveen and Rameshwar were referred to the Government Medical College Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh, while Sat Pal and Kishori Lal were admitted to a private hospital here. The remaining injured were discharged after being given first aid.
Ten people had hired a Sumo and were on their way to Radaur to attend a function. As the Sumo reached near Red Huts, it collided with a truck after its tyre had burst. The truck driver fled. The police impounded the truck.
