Police say a barrage of rockets hit a residential area of a northwestern Pakistani city before dawn killing two civilians and wounding 10 others.
Police official Nisar Khan says no one claimed responsibility for the Tuesday attack in Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province, close to where Taliban militants are based.
Khan says out of 12 rockets fired, one damaged the office of paramilitary forces in the city.
Although Taliban militants often target security forces with rockets such attacks are rare in the country's urban areas.
