With two-lakh people expected at the rally of BJPs prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at Japanese Park in Rohini on Sunday,the Delhi Police has planned elaborate security arrangements. Nearly 1,000 police personnel and 10 PCR vans will be deployed at the rally venue. Also on duty will be quick reaction teams and a bomb disposal squad. Police said LED screens will be placed by the BJP at prominent market places to ease crowd congestion at the venue. Police have been asked to have exit gates every 100 metres to prevent stampede-like situations from building up. They were also asked to display exit signs prominently. There will be separate entry and exit points to facilitate smooth crowd movement in and out of the venue. A day before the rally,a mock drill will be conducted to ensure everything is in order before the event. Five additional DCP-rank officers will be in charge of the venue. Police said going by the expected turnout,it would be one of the largest rallies the capital has seen in the recent past. Police said so far,about 100 CCTV cameras had been installed at the venue and the entire event will be video-graphed. There will be baggage scanners and visitors will be frisked randomly. The Delhi BJP is making massive arrangements for the rally an innovative stage,state-of-the-art sound system,TV studios at the rally ground,20 LED screens on the ground,hoardings,countdown clocks and distribution of stickers,caps and T-shirts are part of the show. There will be three stages in all. The main stage will have two levels with a 10ft-high central podium. The other two stages will flank the main stage and the visuals that will make up the backdrop will keep changing.
