Two employees of a telecommunication company,which provides telecom services and wireless systems to the Chandigarh Police,the Western Command,Punjab and Haryana Governors Houses and other government institutions,have been booked for fraud.
Deepak Sood,owner of the Sector 20-based Telecom Systems India,has accused his service engineer and assistant sales manager of stealing the secret code of the telecom services the company provided.
The accused,Sunil Kumar of Dadu Majra Colony and Kasim Asharfi of Sector 32,have been working with Sood since 2004.
Sood alleged they also embezzled over Rs 2.50 lakh by forging fake invoices. The fraud was detected in December last year,the police said.
In his complaint,Sood said his company has been providing digital exchange,wireless systems and other telecommunication services to his clients,including the Punjab PWD,Labour Bureau,the Haryana Electricity Department and other government and private institutions.
He said the accused ran a parallel company,Electro Systems,in Sector 24,from a fake address and on forged documents. Later,it was found there was no company operating form the given address in Sector 24.
He said Kasim,who was into the sale of the equipment,kept the keys of the office. I trusted them and gave them the keys of my office, Sood told Newsline. They also changed the companys software code,which resulted in losses,and maligned our reputation. He further alleged they had been stealing codes and deactivating systems installed by the company.
A case under sections 420,467,468 and 471 of the IPC against the accused,registered at the Sector 19 police station,is being investigated by the Economic Offences Wing.
