A four-and-a-half-year-old boy, who was kidnapped and allegedly sold to a Mumbai-based couple, reunited with his parents originally from Madhya Pradesh after almost two years. The boy, Nikhil alias Bhailu, had allegedly been sold by one Rekha Solanki to the couple.
Though the boy met his parents, he couldn't recognise them. For the time being, the boy has been handed over to the woman who bought him from Rekha as police are still investigating the case.
As per details, police had arrested Rekha from Lal Darwaja area in Surat a couple of days ago for her alleged involvement in the abduction of another boy, Jignesh (4). The boy was sold to one Aarti, a resident of Jogeshwari area in Mumbai for Rs 75,000. Police handed over Jignesh to his mother Sheetal Rajput who later gave him back to Aarti.
During interrogation, Rekha confessed to have sold one more boy to one Dipali Bhosle for Rs 20,000, in 2011, who had changed the boy's name to Nikhil.
A police team from Surat accompanied by Rekha had gone to Jogeshwari and freed Nikhil from Dipali's custody.
Rekha also confessed that her aide Roshni, who is still at large, had stolen Nikhil from Bodeli in Vadodara, almost two years ago.
While going through the missing persons records at Bodeli police station, the Surat police officials found that a missing complaint of a two-year-old boy called Bhailu Bariya (Nikhil) had been registered on May 20, 2010 by one Ishram Bariya, a resident of Jhabua district in Madhya Pradesh. Ishram and his wife had come to Bodeli to work as farm labourers two years ago.
They came to Surat on Thursday after they had been informed about their missing child. Ishram said his son had only one testicle and pierced ears. The police confirmed that Nikhil matched his descriptions.
