20 held during protest against power cuts

Angered by frequent power cuts,locals today torched a circle officer’s vehicle,a UPSRTC bus and two trucks and clashed with police in Hasanpur area of Jyotiba Phule Nagar district.

Angered by frequent power cuts,locals today torched a circle officer’s vehicle,a UPSRTC bus and two trucks and clashed with police in Hasanpur area of Jyotiba Phule Nagar district.

SP Deepika Garg said the incident took place when a group of people blocked the Moradabad Road at Hasanpur protesting frequent powers cut and demanding installation of an additional transformer in the area.

The police cane-charged to disperse the people,but the locals damaged the CO’s Bolero jeep and set it on fire. They also torched a UPSRTC bus and two trucks which were stuck there following the blockade,the SP said.

The police arrested 20 of them for arson and attack on the police.
