Please do not insult normal AustraliansBy: Michael | 07-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward We are not a racist country, and we are not a violent country. But there are always going to be a very small amount of low-life criminals who are both racist and violent. Its the same in almost every country. However in Australia, the government is able to do more to stop this crime spree, and peaceful proper lobbying is the only way to get them to do this. Calling Australians racist in general and making derogatory comments like 'inferiority complex' (here's looking at you Satindar) is NOT FAIR. It is a form of counter-racism and will do nothing to help the cause. Please acknowledge and respect the fact that the vast majority of Australians, especially the young people, do not hate people because of their race or culture and we are not a violent population.
live strongBy: shyam kumar | 02-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward I have gone through all these traumas when i lived my whole life in Shillong. being a non-tribal in that place was a tough thing.now here if the govt doesn't comes to the rescue, we should hit back as a group. consequenses are for the future. right now if ur life is at risk, u hit them or else they'll hit u. dont b gandhi.its of no use in this situation.
Indian Students should be protected by the australian govt.By: jayabrata das | 01-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward The govt. of australia is responsible to protect all the foreign students going there to study .after all, it is a huge part of GDP which is coming from the foreign students. And the govt. also can't indulge any racist activity in their country.
no goooooodBy: fahad | 31-May-2009 Reply | Forward I'm a Saudi student in Australia and I feel sorry for my brothers (Indian students) as I have many friends of them. Honestly, majority of Aussies are not racism and they treat us very well. Racism people are existed in every country. Believe me guys Indian are the best students as they work very hard. DO NOT WORRY about them they know how to deal with those idiots. Once again, I feel sorry for my brothers.
This is more a crime situation that anything elseBy: Observer | 31-May-2009 Reply | Forward I have lived and studied in Melbourne for the past 14 years. I was born in Singapore but now am an Australian citizen. From my observations these crimes that have been happening are definitely not racist although the media make it appear as such. These crimes are not limited to Indians. In Melbourne there as been a spike in violence involving all Australians. And the main problem is the law here. People have been saying we are too lenient with murders and robberies and such and its so true. Most of these crimes deserve harsh punishment but most offenders are out within several years. The crimes are committed mostly by teenagers and young adults. They use drugs and alcohol and have no direction in life so they cluster in gangs and take part in crime. I fear for this country when these people get older.
