A 20-year-old girl reportedly committed suicide by setting herself afire in Krishna Nagar police station area of Lucknow on Sunday. Police informed that the girl, identified as Radha Kanaujia, was a student of B.Com second year at Guru Nanak Girls Degree College. She was alone at her home when the incident took place. Krishna Nagar SO Ramsanehi Yadav said the incident took place around 4 pm when Radha's father had gone out. He said the girl poured kerosene over her body and burnt herself. She suffered severe burns and died on spot, he added. No suicide note had been recovered by the police, however, he added that the girl had failed for twice in her examination and was depressed.
