Twentyone fishermen from Tamil Nadu,who were detained by Sri Lankan Navy on July 4 while fishing near the island waters,returned home on Wednesday. The fishermen,whose release was ordered by a court in Mannar District recently,were handed over by Sri Lankan Naval personnel to the Indian Coast Guard officials at the International Maritime Border Line this morning. They were brought to the Coast Guard station at Mandapam here this evening,officials said. The fishermen were scheduled to be sent home last week but rough sea conditions delayed their journey. Meanwhile,quoting information received from Sri Lankan authorities,fisheries officials here said today that bodies of three more missing fishermen from here washed ashore at Punkudutheevu. Eight fishermen from Rameswaram and nearby areas,who put out to sea over a period of three days since July 13 were reported missing. Of the four fishermen who left on July 13,bodies of three had washed ashore in the past few days. Bodies of three fishermen,part of another 4-member group that put to sea on July 15,were found by Sri Lankan Navy personnel on Wednesday.
