As many as 23 patients who were admitted to Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMC&H) have tested positive for the dengue fever.
Confirming this, Dr US Sooch, District Health Officer, Ludhiana, said, “These 23 patients of dengue are under treatment at DMCH. Out of these, 12 are from Ludhiana, six from Jalandhar, one from Patiala, one from Kapurthala, one from Hoshiarpur while two are from Rajasthan.”
He said, “Yesterday we received reports confirming that 11 patients admitted at CMC&H have been suffering from dengue. Out of these, nine were from Ludhiana and two were from outside Ludhiana district.”
Meanwhile, Dr Kamal Masih, Medical Superintendent of CMCH, said, “Till date, we have received 16-17 suspected patients of dengue, out of which 11 have been confirmed by the district health department, while reports of the remaining have been sent to the Health Department for investigation.”
