Former CM HD Kumaraswamy, who was rumoured to be considering a change of constituency, will now contest from his existing constituency of Ramanagaram, which was declared a new district during his tenure.
His elder brother Revanna will fight to defend his Holenarasipura constituency in the family’s home borough of Hassan district. He is pitted against the daughter-in-law of a former archrival of Deve Gowda, the late G Puttaswamy Gowda of the Congress.
Among the old faces is former forest minister C Chennigappa — infamous for being the alleged collector of bribes from mine owners in Bellary district — will be in the fray along with son from neighbouring constituencies.
New faces include M V Prasad Babu alias Kabaddi Babu, a former rowdy and a former business manager for H D Kumaraswamy, who will contest from Padmanabhanagar constituency in Bangalore urban district.
