25 govt employees suspended for dereliction of duty

Over two dozen government employees,including 11 teachers have been suspended in the panchayat polls.

Over two dozen government employees,including 11 teachers have been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty during the ongoing panchayat polls in Anantnag district of south Kashmir,an official spokesman said.

District Panchayat Election Officer Anantnag Syed Kifayat Hussian Rizvi ordered the suspension of the 25 employees of various departments yesterday for allegedly being absent during the poll,the spokesman said.

He said the employees were assigned the election duty in Khoveripora,Dachnipora and Qazigund blocks of Anantnag district which went to polls on separate dates this month.

The employees included 11 teachers,a junior engineer,five store keepers,two revenue officials,the spokesman said,adding that the concerned sectoral officers have been asked to charge sheet the suspendees and submit report to District Panchayat Election Officer.
