26/11: Now India wants to quiz LeT men held in Pak

Turning the tables on Pakistan,India has conveyed to Islamabad its desire to send a commission to Pakistan to question some Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists including Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi in connection with the Mumbai terrorist attacks. Interestingly,India itself is examining a similar request from Pakistan which wants its own commission to travel to India to meet the magistrate and the investigating officer who recorded the lone surviving terrorist from those attacks,Ajmal Amir Kasab who is lodged in Mumbai jail and being tried for his terrorist act.Top government sources said India has told Pakistan that it would like to send a commission to examine the voice samples of some top LeT commanders who are known to be the masterminds of the Mumbai attacks. These commanders,including Lakhvi and Zarar Shah,are believed to have been giving directions to the terrorists in Mumbai over phone from Pakistan.India has been demanding the voice samples of seven terrorists,who are now in Pakistani custody,to match them with the voices the Indian investigating agencies had intercepted on the phone lines of the Mumbai attackers during the three-day carnage.

The sources did not specify whether Pakistan’s request for sending its own commission would now be decided on a quid pro quo basis.
