I think the Indian Govt is not dissatisfied with the level of our cooperation, claimed Zardari.

Claiming that the Mumbai carnage had "significant support from within India itself," President Asif Ali Zardari has said Pakistan needs cooperation from India to build the case for "effective prosecution" of the accused in courts in his country.

"Our investigation into the Mumbai attacks is continuing," Zardari said in an interview to 'The Independent'.

"Some of these terrorists may in fact have been born in Pakistan. But we believe that this operation was international, with significant support from within India itself," he said when asked whether Pakistan had any news about the nine militants whose bodies are still in a mortuary in Mumbai.

Asked to comment on India's charge that Pakistan was not doing enough to assist in the investigation into the Mumbai attacks, Zardari said: "I think the Indian government is not dissatisfied with the level of our cooperation."

"We have offered to help, and we have helped. We have made substantial arrests of people within groups that may have been involved in the Mumbai attacks," he said.

"But we need cooperation from India to build the case for effective prosecution of these accused in our courts. Many of the extremists are the same people that conduct acts of terrorism within our own country," Zardari said.

well saidBy: Ganesh | 11-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Credit must be given where it is due.Zardari for once has spoken the minds of millions of Indians. But our govt thinks it is too clever and can hide this fact away from the public for vote bank benefits. The denial of local hand in the attack by the Maharastra home minister barely hours after the attack was indicative of this obvious coverup action.First unearth the local hands before pursueing pakistan. In any case the Q/A sessions with Pakistan is only an election stunt which will fizzle out after the elections.

Just listen to what we say and do the needfulBy: Sridhar | 09-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Comparing things straight.Dr.Abdul Kalam and A.Q Khan both are nuclear scietntists. The difference is AQ Kan was put to jail and Dr. Abdul Kalam was made the President of India. When such is the scenario..The law in Pakistan was arrested and jailed. Where can Joker Zardari think of setting up a "effective prosecution" in his country. There are lot of lies in his own house and needs to clean.Just do what is said.
yes they didBy: Keith | 09-Apr-2009 Reply | Forward Ofcourse the terrorists had some support from India. There are a number of demented, delusional maniacs who seem to think that an islamic pakistan is a utopia and are happy to see India as a country where women are flogged, schools are burnt down, supporting a beard is compulsory and bomb blasts in market places are an everyday feature of life.... And why our incompetent government does nothing to shoot these mad dogs in the middle of the streets is a question best reflective of their incompetence and vote-bank political mindset.
