  • Learning a lesson from the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the M S University (MSU) has asked all the deans of 13 faculties to seek domicile proof of the students who are getting themselves enrolled for this academic session.

During the Mumbai terror attacks, the terrorists were carrying false identity cards of students from various Indian colleges.

MSU Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramesh Goyal said, “After the security problem last year, I had instructed all the deans to take domicile proof of students. There are some practical problems, but we will soon sort these out. We want to record the address of students in every faculty one by one. We also aim to give bar code number to the students in few years.”

MSU Pro-Vice-Chancellor S M Joshi said, “First of all, we would like to concentrate on those faculties where maximum students from other states and countries, i.e., arts faculty and fine arts faculty, come.”
