3 arrested with stolen vehicles

The Special Crime Investigation Cell of the Chandigarh Police busted a gang of three persons,who had allegedly stolen a large number of three-wheelers from the city.

The Special Crime Investigation Cell of the Chandigarh Police busted a gang of three persons,who had allegedly stolen a large number of three-wheelers from the city. The police have recovered seven three-wheelers from them.

According to DSP Satbir Singh of Special Crime Cell,Sanjeev Kumar (27) alias Bawa,a resident of Dadumajra and Shamsher Singh alias Shera (26) of Janta Colony were arrested on March 4 from near Sector 33 and 45 dividing road at 7.30 pm and the police recovered a stolen three-wheeler (CH 03 L 9024) from them.

The three wheeler was found to be stolen from house number 3256 in Sector 38-D on the night intervening February 25 and 26 and a case was also registered at the Sector-39 police station.

The accused were produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Palwinderjeet Kaur and remanded to two-day police custody.

On the basis of their disclosure,the police went to Panipat and Pipli and seized the remaining vehicles. The police have arrested one Sanjiv Kumar,who used to allegedly purchase stolen vehicles for Rs 5,000 from the accused.
