Three people lost their lives while four others were injured when a private bus rammed into a scooter and subsequently collided with an Indica this evening in the town.

The bus, belonging to the Libra Bus Service, was headed for Ludhiana from Ferozepur. It hit the scooter from the rear side killing the occupants on the spot.

Sensing trouble, the bus driver tried to flee from the spot and in a haste hit an Indica car coming from the opposite direction, killing the driver and injuring four occupants of the car.

Angry residents pelted the bus with stones before torching it. They later attacked another bus belonging to the same company and broke its windowpanes.

DSP Paramjit Singh Goraya reached the spot and dispersed the mob. The injured have been admitted in the Dayanand MedicalCollegeandHospital.
