Swine flu claimed three lives in the state last week, taking the year's death toll to 10. Besides, according to health officials, the state has reported 34 confirmed cases of H1N1 infection.
Last week's deaths were reported from Upleta in Rajkot district, Rajkot city and Ahmedabad.
This year's fatalities have been spread out over much of the state, with Rajkot district registering three deaths, Jamnagar district two and Ahmedabad, Amreli, Anand, Bhavnagar and Patan one each.
Dr Dinkar Raval, deputy director of the health department's epidemics division, said, "Most of those who have died this year had associated health anomalies. People suffering from breathlessness must not ignore the symptoms or exert themselves."
