3 Indians held for smuggling poppy seeds in UAE
DUBAI: Three Indians have been held by the UAE Customs Authority in Abu Dhabi for allegedly trying to smuggle 130-kg of poppy seeds. Custom inspectors at the Abu Dhabi International Airport foiled the smuggle of huge quantity of narcotic poppy seeds weighing 128.2 kg, the WAM news agency reported. One of the suspects was found to be carrying 52 bags of poppy seeds.
Slain leader's brother booked for murder bid
MOGA: The Punjab Police Sunday booked brother of slain former MLA Malkit Singh Keetu for allegedly attempting to murder and threaten his kin. Karam Singh had allegedly attempted to murder the children of Kulwant Singh Kanta, adopted son Keetu. Karam threatened them with dire consequences if they appeared in court against his three nephews reportedly involved in Keetu's murder last year. Karam is absconding.
