3 labourers injured after cantilever collapses

Panchkula: Three labourers got seriously injured after a cantilever of an under-constructed house in Sector 15, Panchkula, collapsed on Saturday. The trio was rushed to the General Hospital in Sector 6, where they were later admitted.

While two of them, Dinesh (21) and Chinni Lal (40) are residents of Indira colony, Hemraj Kumar (25), who is a native of UP, lived in Colony Number 5, Chandigarh.

“It was in the evening when there were around 12 labourers working in one of the under-constructed house in Sector 15. All of a sudden, the cantilever collapsed in which three labourers were injured. They were rushed to the General Hospital,” said Lalan Kumar, one of the labourers.

He added that the injured labourers are reported to be stable. The police have recorded the statement of the labourers and are investigating the case.
