Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi alleged Friday that recent downgrades by global rating agencies S&P and Fitch were part of an international conspiracy against India which is supported by three NRI businessmen.
Ravi told a meeting in Thrissur that the rating agencies were trying to wreck India by campaigning against it and tarnishing its image in international fora. A few foreign countries wanted to bring India under their control through manoeuvres backed by the Indian businessmen,Ravi said. He said the anger against India flows from the countrys refusal to allow them to exploit it as they wish.
