  • Malad police arrested three women on Friday near Malad railway station on charges of selling obscene material and seized porn CDs from them.

The police had got a tip-off that three women will meet in front of a mall in Malad with an intention of selling CDs containing objectionable material.

Accordingly, police formed teams of women officials in plain clothes and laid a trap at the said place. “

Police Inspector Deepak Phatangare said, “In the afternoon, we spotted three women coming together and discussing something near the shopping centre. From their suspicious movements and behaviour, we zeroed in on them. We are not disclosing their names as this is a sensitive case and we need to conduct further enquiries in the matter and if necessary, make more arrests.”

When asked about the background of the arrested women, Phatangare said, “The women work in a beauty parlour at Malad and had decided to make obscene CDs and sell them in the open market to earn some easy money.”
