4 days after Soumya was shot, her cousin’s body found in lake

Hyderabad, September 16: The mystery surrounding the death of Hyderabad girl Soumya Reddy in a park in St Louis County in Missouri on Saturday has deepened after the body of her cousin, Vikram Reddy, was found floating in a small lake just a few metres away from where she was found shot in a car.

Distraught family members said that they were unable to contact Vikram Reddy, 27, since her death, but it did not occur to them that their deaths could be related.

“We don’t know why they were in St Louis County and when Vikram met her. We received news early on Tuesday morning that Vikram’s body was found floating in a lake in the park. Soumya’s body was found in Vikram’s car which was parked very near to the lake,” Soumya’s brother Rajesh Reddy said.

St Louis County police called up the relatives here in Hyderabad on Tuesday morning after they found the body. They told the family that they were investigating if Vikram shot Soumya before committing suicide at the lake or if an unidentified assailant was involved in the shooting.
