Cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar today began a new innings by opening his official page on the social networking site Facebook, attracting over 4.4 lakh 'Likes' within hours.
"I'll like to welcome you to my Facebook family. As a child, I always dreamt of playing cricket for India and I chased my dream of winning the World Cup for 22 years. It wouldn't have been possible without your support," Tendulkar said in his welcome note to fans on the Facebook page.
Among other details, his phone number is also mentioned in the page and provides a link to www.sachinworld.com.
"I wanna take this opportunity to thank all of you for having prayed for me and wish well for me. I look forward to sharing my experience with you, join me on my facebook (page) so that we both can share this experience and go through this journey together," he added.
Though the Master Blaster has an existing page on Facebook but it is being managed by an agency appointed by him.
The sports icon authenticated his joining through a video message posted on his page.
The webpage in his name has merged the already existing one with it.
