Mumbai, September 24:: The Mumbai Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested five suspected terrorists of Indian Mujahideen, responsible for recent blasts in Delhi, Ahmedabad and other cities in the last three years.

The five have been identified as - Abdul Afzal Usmani, Mohammad Saidq Shaikh, Mohammad Aarif Shaikh, Ahmed Zakir Shaikh and Shaikh Mohammad Ansari.

"Usmani, a resident of Azamgad in Uttar Pradesh had planted bombs at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital and had stolen four vehicles from Navi Mumbai, which were used in Ahmedabad blasts," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said.

Sadiq was arrested from Cheetah Camp in north-east Trombay area. Aarif has been accused of making the explosives used in the blasts.

"These five persons were involved in all the blasts across the country since 2005. They have links with LeT and the Huji Terror groups," Maria said.

The police have also recovered ten kg of ammonium nitrate, four electric circuits, submachine gun and revolvers.

"The founder member of the Indian Mujahideen Roshan Khan is still at large and is suspected to be in Pakistan," Maria added.

Ansar, a software engineer by profession, was responsible for assembling the bombs.

Usmani had planted bombs at the Ahmedabad civil hospital and had stolen four vehicles from Navi Mumbai which were used in the Ahmedabad blasts, Maria said.

Saddik is believed to be one of the founder members of Indian Mujahideen along with Atif.

"Saddik used to lure youths from his village Sanjarpur in Azamgarh and was involved in the planning of Delhi and Ahmedabad blasts," Maria said.

The police recovered ten kilograms of ammonium nitrate, four electric circuits, submachine gun and revolvers from the arrested persons. The explosives and weapons seized from them came from Karnataka, he said.

"Roshan Khan, founder member of Indian Mujahideen, is still at large and is suspected to be in Pakistan," Maria said.

Khan, resident of Karnataka, has been active in Hyderabad, Maharashtra, Delhi and Gujarat, Maria said.

"Three of the accused had gone to Pakistan to undergo training, which was allegedly supported by the LeT and Huji," Maria said adding the money for weapons and explosives came through Hawala channels.

"The five have been booked for criminal conspiracy and under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Explosives Act and Arms Act," Maria said.

These five have also been cited as accused in the chargesheet of the 7/11 serial train blasts in Mumbai.

All the five had at some point of their career worked for SIMI members but later broke away to form more radical Indian Mujahideen, he said.

Maria said one Aamir Raza in Pakistan is the ‘controller’ of Indian Mujaheedin.

Gujarat and Delhi Police Forces shall be commended for their efforts to fight terrorisms. It is not like Maharastra and UP where evils are being protected by the govt. and psuedo secularists.
Well done Gujarat and Delhi Police by PM on 2008-09-25 07:46:06.848981+05:30
Damn right Rajeev. Thanks to initiative by Gujarat Police. UP has become terror hub under Mulla Mulayam and A(k)mar Singh. They are just playing vote bank politics. I haven’t heard a single word from these culprits about SIMI after all arrests. Now ‘the most important thing is to give these terrorist what they deserve- death’.

Interesting that these are all Muslims. They have become a nuisance to the world. These and all those others hiding or pretending to be secular leaders should be booked and put in jail. POTA should be reinstituted so these crooks cannot escape. We Indians need to take our country back into our controla and run all these terrorists and foreigners out. We should start hitting the targets in the neighboring areas. Look people, US and Israel do that daringly daily. It is legal because these countries do it and nobody says anything. Why should we be afraid and of whom? Strike them repeatedly until the traces are erased. Vote for strong India. Get all the newspapers, TV cjannels, airlines, businesses, educational and judicial systems back to our control. remember the greatness of our culture, religion and traditions. These damned peopl are taking advantage of and are thinking we don't react. Let us do and show them their place. Do NOT read, watch their news channels or movies or give jobs.

Sonia Manio, Arjun Singh, Laloo, Mulayam, Paswan, Karuna, Karats, Yechurys, Antonys, Left Commies and their ilk are already probably preparing a hate speech to bash Hindus, Saffron Brigade, RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, BJP etc for the tension and anytime now we will hear how secularism is under attack and how minorities should be protected. The media will then join the multi ring Circus of how Modi's win has fanned Hindu fanaticism across country and nobody will talk about the fact that laws preventing conversions were violated and the fact that the Hindus were attacked first by the missionaries who provoked the communal tension in the first place and cause Hindu retaliation. Just yesterday the Psychophantic news channels already started biased and false reporting of how Christian missionaries were attacked and yet the police arrested the victims and not their Hindu oppressors. None has bothered to interview Swami Laxmanananda to find the truth about why he was attacked in the first place

I have yet to hear calls from Mulayam and Laloo for the release of these Mujahideen patriots. Shivraju Patil was, probably, informed of this heinous action by Bombay police!
Delhi Blasts by Rajan Sharma on 2008-09-25 00:07:46.96584+05:30
Before, we go to catch these people, we should concentrate more on the State Policies. I see many muslims speaking openly against the country and no one has an objection. I have not seen any other country in the world tolerating these kind of elements. Look at America, it completely changed after 9/11. Look at Britain, complete changes in policies after the attacks. And look at us and our impotent politicians, what are they waiting for?? How many lives are required before we take any action? Or, we shall never and make India another Pak.

Now the terrorists are nabbed; bring them to justice by Nikhil on 2008-09-24 23:05:45.435791+05:30
The cops caught the terrorists alright, but will the terrorists ever brought to justice? Or will they walk free? The drama will now begin; some human rights activists will accuse the cops of fake encounters, the religious groups will hold rallies against targeting minorities, self-professed socialites will talk/write about the degradation in Indian society, the TV channels will act as the jury and host endless debates in an effort to boost its TRP ratings, the politicians will assess the public mood and make hollow speeches to gain political mileage and the legal system will take several years to reach a verdict.

Terrorists by Kalpathy Venkataraman on 2008-09-24 20:49:35.152928+05:30
These terrorists know very well that our judicial system gives them ample protection. We should set up summary trial courts to try terrorism related crimes and if proven guilty, the culprits should be executed without any mercy. Also, catch all the illegal Muslim immigrants from Bangladesh and Pakistan whip them and push them back to where they belong. Check the funding of all madarasas and that is where all terrorists are trained and supported. No mercy should be shown to these dirty dogs.Manmohan Singh's goverment is very weak in handling the terrorists.
Thank god somebody is not innept by Rajeev Kumar on 2008-09-24 20:00:10.025965+05:30
