A lower court on Friday summoned six persons against whom an Additional Sessions Judge (ADJ) has initiated perjury proceedings.
Additional Sessions Judge Shalini Singh Nagpal had given a complaint to the Chief Judicial Magistrate, pertaining to the case in which IPS officer, Saji Mohan stands guilty of pilfering 60 kilograms of heroin from unclaimed seizures. The complaint mentioned that six persons should be summoned for initiating perjury proceedings against them.
The ADJ had stated that the six accused had willfully and knowingly fabricated the evidence during the trail of the case.
The case has been listed for May 7 in a lower court.
On March 20, the ADJ had given a complaint to the chief judicial magistrate accusing one of the convicts, Balwinder Kumar, former superintendent, NCB and five others including M M S Bhandari, Intelligence Officer, NCB, Delhi, Sub-Inspector (SI) Rakesh Roshan, BSF, Jammu, Head Constable (HC) Vijay Pal Singh, BSF Batallion, Kashmir, Virat Dutt Chaudhary, Assistant Commissioner (retd), Customs, Amritsar and Pushpdeep Singh, Inspector Customs, Amritsar.
According to the complaint given by the judge, the NCB and BSF officials accused in the complaint had forged the seizure memos and other documents.
The six accused had also given statements which were meant to mislead the court while the case involving the IPS officer Saji Mohan was under trial, according to the court.
The customs officials had forged the unclaimed seizure of 10 kg heroin.
After the statements of another accused Naseeb Chand, a former BSF informer and drug peddler were recorded, the court had established that the accused had bought the heroin from Naseeb Chand which was pilfered by Saji Mohan.
