About 600 students participated in the inter-school painting competition held at DAV Public School, Pakhowal road, Sarabha Nagar extension here on Thursday.

The competition was divided into three categories. Kuldeep Singh, joint commissioner, was the chief guest while R S Patial, principal, and Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu, head-mistress of the school, were present on the occasion.

The results are as follows:

Category A: 1. Danish Mahajan of DAV, 2. Gurpreet Kaur of DAV, 3. Namica of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, consolation prize: Gursimran Kaur of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School.

Category B: 1 Shubham of KVM, 2 Anu of KCW, 3 Anmol Kaur of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, consolation prize: Aakriti Bansal of DAV, Sarabha Nagar.

Category C: 1 Amanpreet of GGN Public School, 2 Harman of Guru Nanak International, 3 Chetna of DAV BRS Nagar, consolation prize: Manmeet of GGN Public School
