The CBI had summoned ten persons who were pointed by the alleged kingpin Gurivi Reddy. These persons have been alleged to benefit from the entire set-up. Out of the ten persons summoned, seven showed up at the CBI office on Monday.
A CBI official said that these persons will now be confronted with Gurivi Reddy and Dr Ganga Dhar Reddy who are the two alleged core conspirators who are in a police custody till November 24.
"The CBI will now ascertain if the allegations made by Gurivi Reddy are true or not. Only then we can say if these people are the alleged beneficiaries or not", said a CBI sleuth.
Also, the court has ordered the CBI officials to get a fresh medical examination done for Dr Ganga Dhar Reddy who was arrested from Patna. The three persons for whom the police remand was extended on Saturday till today were sent to a judicial custody by a local court today.
During the court proceedings, the defense counsel had contested that since the beneficiaries have till date not been arrested, Dr Ganga Dhar should be sent to a judicial custody. "Since the persons with whom he is to be confronted are not arrested yet, he should be sent to the jail and not to police custody," said the counsel for defense Rabindra Pandit.
Also, the signature specimens for all the dummy candidates who allegedly leaked the paper were taken by the CBI sleuths. These specimens will now be sent to the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory (CFSL) for matching the ones on the forms filled by them for the entrance examination.
All the dummy candidates had changed their identities in the application forms submitted by them. Also, while filling the forms, these girls had given the names of different medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh, one of which was Kakaiya Medical College.
