Ahmedabad: A seven-year-old boy from Vatva was allegedly sodomised by his neighbour on November 26 after the accused lured the boy with a ten-rupee note.

Vatva police have registered a case under the provisions of the IPC and have commenced investigations to nab the accused, who is absconding.

The Vatva police said that the boy is a resident of Maneklal ni Chali in Vatva. The accused has been identified as Sushil Tiwari from the same chawl.

Investigating Officer, Sub-Inspector J S Pateliya, said: “The boy was sodomised in the bushes on November 26. The matter came to light soon after the boy told his mother about the incident.”

As the child's father was away on some official tour, the complaint was lodged on Monday after his arrival, said Pateliya. He added: “The accused is missing from his house since November 26 and investigations are on to nab him.”
